One licensed site
PlayNow.com is the only gambling site licensed in Manitoba. Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries (MBLL), a provincial Crown corporation, runs it. In MBLL's words, no other multi-product gambling website across Manitoba is both legal and regulated.
January 2013 is when PlayNow launched in Manitoba, with BCLC as MBLL's provider and partner. It offers online casino games, lottery and sports betting. Poker, bingo and live-dealer casino games are on it as well.
Player tools include time and deposit limits, a short-term lockout and session reminders. Since 2020, player-health specialists have answered by phone and live chat. The legal age for gambling in Manitoba is 18. The Interpretation Act defines a minor as a person under 18, and minors must not take part in provincial gaming.
What the province says
The Liquor, Gaming and Cannabis Authority of Manitoba (LGCA) says most gambling sites advertised to Manitobans are not regulated in Manitoba. It cannot make an unregulated site follow Manitoba law. That could mean trouble such as an unpaid win. An ad for a gambling site does not mean the site is legal.
On May 26, 2025, the Court of King's Bench of Manitoba ruled on the offshore site Bodog. It found Bodog had no lawful authority to offer online gambling to people located in Manitoba, or to advertise it. The court ordered Manitoba geo-blocked.
In January 2024, MBLL warned about a fake Club Regent Casino app that had been advertised. Club Regent Casino and McPhillips Station Casino offer no mobile app and no gaming over the internet. Points on the Casinos of Winnipeg Club Card cannot be used on PlayNow.com.
Where the Ad links lead
Paid links wait at one stop alone, the front page of the guide, with every one of them labelled Ad. There are three: the menu carries one, a block under the opening screen carries another, and a third sits at the page's foot. Whichever is clicked, it ends at a single partner, an online casino. A commission comes to the guide, though the partner itself may change. Inner pages hold none, and that includes this page.
The partner behind them runs a private online casino, separate from PlayNow and without a Manitoba licence. It has no connection with MBLL, the LGCA or any venue in this guide. MBLL's Voluntary Self-Exclusion does not cover it. Venues, MBLL and PlayNow never pay this site.
